The third annual Gender Equality Summit will feature senior female leaders from corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors, and include individual sessions and panel discussions on workplace flexibility for women, paternity and maternity leave, organisational gender balance and the role of men in building gender equality.
The conference will focus on the challenges for construction companies in complying with WHS laws and building safety cultures, and build on the findings of the recent ACT construction industry safety inquiry. The keynote speaker will be Baroness Rita Donaghy, who authored the 2009 UK report, One Death is too Many, on construction fatalities.
This biennial event, run in conjunction with the Safety Institute of Australia, will address new and recurring health and safety issues facing safety leaders, and assist in the development of OHS and wellness within northern Australia.
The 2013 Safety Show will feature nearly 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovative solutions for keeping workers safe, while leading safety experts will conduct free seminars on a range of topics. The National Cleaning and Hygiene Expo, and the Advanced Logistics and Materials Handling Show, will run in conjunction with the Safety Show.
This Australian Meat Industry Council safety conference will include presentations on dealing with soft tissue injuries and sprains and strains, reducing injuries by keeping workers' minds on the job, bandsaw safety, the harmonised WHS Act, and drug and alcohol testing.
The 2013 conference theme is "Better design for prevention, smarter support for recovery". It will examine best practice incident-prevention strategies, raise awareness of the importance of effective safety leadership and education, examine innovative and inclusive rehabilitation and return-to-work pathways, and expand the knowledge and skills of participants through significant professional development and networking opportunities.
