We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a 1 – 2 year PAE Safety lawyer to join Freehills’ National Safety Team in Sydney. Being Australia’s thought leaders in safety, this dynamic team specialises in working with Australia’s largest and most respected organisations.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the full spectrum of safety matters, including: providing emergency advice and attending workplaces in the event of an accident; attending interviews and negotiating outcomes with safety regulators; and briefing Senior Counsel in safety prosecutions and coronial inquests.
As part of the National Safety Team, you will work with Australia’s pre-eminent safety lawyers to: develop strategic outcomes in safety for national clients in a broad range of industries, including mining, energy and financial services; advise employers of WHS obligations in all Australian jurisdictions; conduct WHS legal training to leading Australian boards and executives; and present your views in publications and forums.

While not essential requirements, experience in legal research and advanced writing skills; workplace health and safety; and criminal law and coronial inquests will be well regarded.
