An exciting opportunity now exists for a Workplace Health & Safety Officer to assist with the introduction and consequential implementation of the Workplace Health & Safety Act 2011 to our Medibank sites nationally. Working closely with the Project Team, you will play an integral role in auditing existing, and streamlining future WHS policies and procedures across the entire organisation to reflect the organisations ongoing commitment to the health and safety of all our employees. Responsibilities will include:
Completing a thorough review of the current WHS policies and procedures at both a group and business level
Liaising closely with key internal stakeholders regarding all aspects of content, approval, distribution and communication of WHS policies and procedures
Developing a matrix which allocates policies, procedures and legislative requirements against each business area
Establishing and implementing a project-related document control register and procedure for all WHS documents
Developing a periodic review schedule of WHS policies and procedures to check ongoing accuracy of content
To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated experience and knowledge of current Workplace Health & Safety legislation and regulations as well as experience auditing, reviewing and developing policies and procedures. You will have excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to liaise with a range of stakeholders across the business. Your initiative and flexibility will allow you to take on new challenges while ensuring timely completion of tasks.
