This is an operational role where you will be required to work with a broad range of internal customers, assisting with all their Health & Safety management needs.
Reporting to the National Manager Health & Safety, your responsibilities include:
• Being a core support to the business on H & S matters with a strong ability to influence and deliver an appropriate safety culture
• Coaching & mentoring staff, ensuring safety is a key priority and part of the daily process
• Assist in the development of safety systems in-line with safety regulations and company policy
• Complete site safety inspections and reports for distribution up to Executive Management.
• Complete Safety Audits and assist sites achieve compliance
• Developing Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures
• Provide accurate and timely safety reports
• Developing and delivering training programs to drive a strong safety culture and enhance safety learning within the business
• Provide relief RTW Coordinator support to cover any annual leave requirements
To be successful in this position your skills and attributes will include:
• Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety qualification
• Minimum 5 year experience in a full time Safety role with blue collar and warehouse experience
• Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training
• A Return to Work Coordinator qualification
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Highly developed report writing and PC skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point
• A positive can do attitude and friendly approachable personality
• Have proven skills to provide technical safety advice on all matters relating to WHS, hazard identification and incident investigation
• Have sound knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation including the new Harmonised legislative changes, and standards
• Contractor Management experience
