WA could shun WHS Act in favour of OSH overhaul

Western Australia is more likely to overhaul its 30-year-old OSH Act - to include such concepts as the PCBU - than introduce mirror WHS laws, according to a workplace health and safety lawyer. The State Government says it will reveal its plans soon.

Five jurisdictions "safer" as model Codes dispute continues

Workplaces in the five OHS jurisdictions where harmonised safety laws have taken effect are now safer and more productive, according to Federal Workplace Relations Minister Bill Shorten. But stakeholders continue to squabble over the draft model Codes of Practice.
