Last-chance leg surgery deemed not reasonably necessary

In a detailed review of the definition of "reasonably necessary" surgery under workers' comp laws, an appeals commission has upheld a decision denying a morbidly obese, diabetic injured worker the costs of bone surgery considered his "only chance of walking again".
