Model traffic management Code and guides finalised

Safe Work Australia has released the final version of its model Code of Practice on workplace traffic management, as well as four industry-specific guides to the Code, while WorkSafe ACT has published a guide on WHS management plans for construction contractors.

First remuneration order released by Safe Rates Tribunal for comment

Road transport drivers will have the discretion to amend an employer or hirer's "safe driving plan" to include additional rest breaks, while employers will be required to put drivers through OHS training, under a draft remuneration order released for public comment.

FWC bullying plan delayed, while Queensland changes worker definition

The Federal Government's FWA Amendment Bill has passed through the House of Representatives, but its bullying provisions have been delayed for six months. Queensland workers' comp changes have also passed through Parliament.

Revised bullying Code drops reference to "subtle" behaviour

Safe Work Australia has released a revised draft model Code of Practice on the prevention of workplace bullying, which no longer includes the words "subtle" and "indirect" or references to initiation practices in its examples of bullying.
