Courts rule on contractor training and staff requirements after security guards injured

A Victorian employer that failed to properly instruct or monitor security contractors has been found primarily responsible for a security guard's injuries. Cables in stable condition, safety inspection unnecessary

A Victorian employer, which neglected to inspect cables before an electrical contractor was injured while working on them, is not required to cover WorkCover's payments to the contractor, the Supreme Court has ruled.

Ten Victorian entities fined $250k for safety breaches

Visy and manager handed high adverse action penalties

A Victorian employer and one of its managers have been handed high-range adverse action fines, after they suspended and issued a final warning to an HSR because he tagged as unsafe two defective forklifts, and then sought to "disguise" their motives in the Federal Court.

Work vehicle unroadworthy for 20 years, bystander killed
